East County Rising - Heather Booth: Changing The World Film Screening

Student Life This event is open to anyone interested in civic engagement and making a positive impact in the world. Doors open at 5pm in the College Theatre, and we will have an hour of mingling and refreshments, followed by a panel discussion about organizing with Heather Booth and local leaders. Then we'll screen the documentary film Heather Booth: Changing the World followed by a Q&A with Heather. As a teenager Heather Booth was involved with SNCC and the Freedom Summer. She was a vocal protester of the Vietnam War, and founded the Jane Collective. In her career as an organizer she's worked with President Obama, Elizabeth Warren, NAACP and other national organizations. We're honored to have her come visit Oregon for this event.
