College CLOSED for Juneteenth
Rogue Community College will be closed for Juneteenth, the newest federal holiday marking the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, on June 19.
Juneteenth is also known as Emancipation Day. Juneteenth is an annual remembrance of June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers enforced the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863, freeing all remaining slaves in Texas. In accordance with the Presidential Proclamation enacting this federal holiday, Rogue Community College is committed to the work of promoting equity along with social and racial justice. The name “Juneteenth” is a blend of two words: “June” and “nineteenth.” It's believed to be the oldest African-American holiday, with annual celebrations on June 19th in different parts of the country dating back to 1866. This day is an opportunity for people to celebrate freedom and equal rights in the United States.

Red Cross Blood Drive (RWC)
Your blood donation helps save a life!
A Red Cross blood drive will be held at RCC's Redwood Campus, Building Cafe/Student Center (RWC-SC), located at 3345 Redwood Highway in Grants Pass, on July 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to all members of the community.
Click here to make an appointment https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=RCCRWC or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
The need for blood is constant, and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
We’re also looking for Blood Donor Ambassadors to volunteer on drive day—welcoming donors, assisting with check-in, answering questions, and helping at the refreshment table. Your friendly support helps create a great experience that keeps donors coming back! To sign up, please fill out this form [https://forms.office.com/r/LD8Bicpidk].
