Linfield Gallery: "Stay A While Longer" exhibition by Holden Head
Stay A While Longer, an exhibit by artist Holden Head, will be featured in the Linfield Gallery in the Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield University from Feb. 11 through March 7, 2026. The artist will give remarks during the opening reception on Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. Light refreshments will be provided. The exhibition features mixed media artworks, ceramics and sculpture. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.

Please join us for the 2026 Frank Larsell lecture. Author Nicholas Buccola tells the dramatic untold story of Barry Goldwater and Martin Luther King Jr.’s decade-long clash over the meaning of freedom—and how their conflicting visions still divide American politics. Buccola is professor of government and the Jules L. Whitehill Professor of Humanism and Ethics at Claremont McKenna College. He is the author of The Fire Is upon Us: James Baldwin, William F. Buckley Jr. and the Debate over Race in America (Princeton), which was a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice, and The Political Thought of Frederick Douglass.

No is a Complete Sentence: A Proactive Prevention Approach to Stalking and Intimate Partner Violence
This interactive violence prevention performance by the interACT Performance Troupe engages participants in a proactive, skill-based approach to intimate partner violence and stalking prevention. Using interactive theatre techniques, audience members explore scenarios that reveal how inappropriate pursuers and abusive partners establish control, push boundaries, and escalate harmful behavior. Centering participants as active problem-solvers, the performance encourages reflection, dialogue, and real-time practice.
Participants examine common predatory strategies, identify early warning signs, and recognize how boundary violations often begin subtly and intensify over time. Emphasis is placed on honoring intuition as a critical protective tool. Through guided interaction, audience members practice assertive boundary-setting, explore safe ways to end unhealthy relationships, and consider how social responses can either reinforce harm or support safety.

Join Seattle author Cara Stoddard (she/they) for a reading from her debut memoir “Spirography,” which tells a story of kinship, queerness, and the secrets of the body in the wake of illness and loss. Author Anna Maria Spagna calls Stoddard’s memoir “a moving love story, richly layered: a daughter's love for their father spirals outward to include family, friends, lovers, a daughter of their own, and love for place.” Stoddard’s work has appeared in “The Gettysburg Review,” “Terrain.org,” and “Ninth Letter,” among other venues, and has been nominated for the John Burroughs Nature Essay award. Learning Across Borders: An Evening with storyteller, author, and physician,Dr. Russell Low
Part of the Learning Across Borders series, Dr. Russell Low, a physician and author of many books centered on immigrant identity and what it means to be an American. Dr. Low is the grandson of former Salem-Keizer resident Low Sun Fook, also known as Hop Lee, the name of the laundry business he operated. Dr. Low has published several books about his family’s history.
Dr. Low will be bringing signed books with all proceeds dedicated to supporting scholarships for nursing students at California State University San Marcos.

Join us for a special lectureship featuring Dr. Greg Carey and Dr. Julia O’Brien as they explore the themes of biblical prophecy and apocalyptic literature in conversation with the political and cultural realities of today.
This session, “Prophecy and Apocalypticism,” will help attendees understand:
What qualifies as biblical prophetic and apocalyptic texts
