Marking the official start of the academic year, new students and families will be officially welcomed by President Blegen, Linfield faculty and staff. New students will participate in the Tradition of the Acorn.

Linfield Theatre: "The 24 Hour Plays"
The Linfield Theatre season will kick off with the third installment of The 24 Hour Plays, a raucous event that puts students on the clock to make the best art they can, from inception of an idea through production of a performance. On Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. student playwrights, actors, directors and designers will gather to receive a writing prompt that challenges the students to write, rehearse and perform new plays in a 24–hour period. By 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, the theatre doors will open to audiences to come see what the students have created. A second performance will be offered at 9:30 p.m. that night. Admission is free and on a first–come, first–served basis. Some content may not be suitable for all audiences.
