Marshall Theatre: "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical"
The Linfield Theatre Program in collaboration with the Department of Music presents The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. With book by Joe Tracz and music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki, the musical is based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling novel of the same name. The story follows Percy Jackson’s odyssey from troublemaker to hero as he confronts Greek gods and monsters, a traitor, an absentee father, and self–doubt. Guided by quirky friends, a magical pen that becomes a sword, and his undying love for his mom, Percy undertakes a dangerous journey across the U.S. to prevent a war. A story that celebrates belief in gods, friends, and our own inner strength, The Lightning Thief brings out the kid in all of us. Performance dates are April 24 and 25 and May 1–3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 and Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. Fog, haze and flashing lights will be used. Recommended for ages 8 and older.
