This session, inspired by recent research and St. Francis’s Canticle of the Creatures, aims to inspire transformative practices that honor the beauty and complexity of faith in our educational communities. Participants will engage in a roundtable discussion on the intersection of faith development and professional practice, with takeaways to better equip educators to support student faith development and animate our Franciscan mission. Living in the In-Between

Living in the In-Between: Insights from Francis and Clare of Assisi, Presenter: Dr. John Kruse, Life is full of “threshold” experiences, those in which we are neither in our old state of being and not yet in our new state of being.  These “in-between” (or “liminal”) experiences involve uncertainty and a loss of control.  They are also opportunities for great creativity, growth, and transformation.  The lives of Francis and Clare of Assisi provide much insight into how we can navigate and grow from the liminal experiences of our lives.
