Join the voice faculty and pianist Parker Konkle for a fun evening of music making! Interspersed with the singing will be colorful reminiscences and storytelling about their journeys as singers and teachers.

Rhapsody Series: Percussive Treasure
Join percussion faculty member Dr. Lee Hinkle and colleagues for a recital of unique and explosive new works for percussion. This performance will feature two new works from composer’s Brianna Wiegand and Connie Li inspired by a Research Grant from the College of Arts & Architecture utilizing unique percussive sounds and influences from the communities where they reside in Philadelphia & Baltimore, respectively.
Two pieces by Penn State composer, Baljinder Sekhon, will be heard including his "Distances" for solo marimba (2016) and a brand new composition for prepared vibraphone and electronics entitled “Hope for a Treasure” (2025).
The concert will conclude with an explosive new chamber percussion concerto by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Joseph Schwantner entitled “Fast Forward” (2021) for piano, double bass, percussion quartet and percussion soloist.

Beloved fables, nursery rhymes, and animals come to life in the program Tails & Tales. The music features musical vignettes depicting animals in addition to narrated Aesop's fables and Mother Goose rhymes.
On this program, horn professor Sarah Schouten and narrator Robert Hickey, work together to paint vivid imagery making the characters leap off the page and onto the stage. Featuring composers Anthony Plog, Jeffrey Agrell, and Clark McAllister, it will be an exciting afternoon of story telling, musical imagery, and merriment.
