Coast Musical Encounters

"Match in a Haystack" Film Screening

From 5-time Emmy-winning filmmaker Joe Hill, "Match in a Haystack" is a poignant look at the human impact of the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine. This stunning film highlights the journey of the women of Ukraine’s leading contemporary dance group as they struggle to find purpose in their work following Russia's invasion. A search for resistance ultimately led them back to dance. Join us for a screening of the film, immediately followed by a discussion featuring the filmmaker himself (Joe Hill) and a panel of OCC academic experts.
