A.C. Thompson is a staff reporter with ProPublica. His stories often examine the criminal justice system. In addition to working as a print and web journalist, Thompson has reported extensively for television, serving as a producer and correspondent for the PBS documentary series Frontline.

The program brings together a selection of favorite works spanning from the Baroque era to the 20th century, including Bach’s Italian Concerto, Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy, and music by Franck, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Kapustin. The program moves between intimate, lyrical moments and virtuosic, rhythmically vibrant works, ending with Kapustin’s Variations, which brings a distinctly jazz-inspired voice to the piano.
