Persian Music Appreciation Workshop
In this workshop we explore a broad range of topics related to Persian music, including the foundations and history of Persian music, the multitude of musical styles and instruments in use in various regions of Iran, music fundamentals and theory, the Radif and Dastgah system of music, the vocal art of Iran, the relationship between Persian music and poetry as well as other art forms, and the contributions of accomplished musicians and craftsmen to this art form. We strive to cover a range of topics and concepts that hopefully appeal to both novice and expert attendees. At times we invite special guest speakers (prominent musicians from the Bay Area) to share their art form or their musical specialty with us, often accompanied by brief solo or group performances. Persian Music Appreciation Workshop
In this workshop we explore a broad range of topics related to Persian music, including the foundations and history of Persian music, the multitude of musical styles and instruments in use in various regions of Iran, music fundamentals and theory, the Radif and Dastgah system of music, the vocal art of Iran, the relationship between Persian music and poetry as well as other art forms, and the contributions of accomplished musicians and craftsmen to this art form. We strive to cover a range of topics and concepts that hopefully appeal to both novice and expert attendees. Persian Music Appreciation Workshop
In this workshop we explore a broad range of topics related to Persian music, including the foundations and history of Persian music, the multitude of musical styles and instruments in use in various regions of Iran, music fundamentals and theory, the Radif and Dastgah system of music, the vocal art of Iran, the relationship between Persian music and poetry as well as other art forms, and the contributions of accomplished musicians and craftsmen to this art form. We strive to cover a range of topics and concepts that hopefully appeal to both novice and expert attendees. At times we invite special guest speakers (prominent musicians from the Bay Area) to share their art form or their musical specialty with us, often accompanied by brief solo or group performances. Persian Music Appreciation Workshop
In this workshop we explore a broad range of topics related to Persian music, including the foundations and history of Persian music, the multitude of musical styles and instruments in use in various regions of Iran, music fundamentals and theory, the Radif and Dastgah system of music, the vocal art of Iran, the relationship between Persian music and poetry as well as other art forms, and the contributions of accomplished musicians and craftsmen to this art form. We strive to cover a range of topics and concepts that hopefully appeal to both novice and expert attendees. At times we invite special guest speakers (prominent musicians from the Bay Area) to share their art form or their musical specialty with us, often accompanied by brief solo or group performances. Other times the workshops are hands-on, and participants partake in group activities that would help them become more expert listeners, and enhance their appreciation of Persian music.
