Noon Forum-The Myth of Race (Blanchard)

The Noon Forum for Wednesday, February 11, 2026 will be presented by Dr. Ken Blanchard, professor emeritus of political science.  His topic is "The Myth of Racism". Blanchard will discuss how abstract concepts such as race and racism are used in the social sciences and why he believes those concepts can be misleading when used as political weapons. He will argue that racism does not exist because race does not exist, describing race as a continuum rather than a category. He will also address the biological evolution of that continuum and the harm he believes occurs when the concept of race is weaponized in contemporary politics. The Noon Forum is held in the NSU Beulah Williams Library Round Room from 12-1pm on Wednesdays and is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences.  This and all forums are free and open to the public. Event Locator: 2026-ACHBJX. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Beulah Williams Library Round Rm 104.
