Bands on the Green
Bands on the Green is set to take place on Saturday, September 20th following the Gypsy Day Parade. All high school bands who participated by marching with their school in the Parade are welcome to attend the event!
The event will be located at the Jewett Regional Science Center with indoor and outdoor seating available. Bands participating in the parade will make their way to the event after they have performed to enjoy some Domino's Pizza, water, and pop!
Bus drivers can park in the Johnson Fine Arts Center parking lot. No RSVP required.

Association of South Dakota Museums Annual Conference
Brad Tennant is a historian and humanities scholar whose research, writing, and presentations focus on the history of South Dakota and the Northern Plains. He has published over forty works, including books, book chapters, articles, brochures, and book reviews.
As a college history professor, he dedicated more than forty years to reading, writing, and teaching about the history of South Dakota and the Northern Plains.
Dr. Tennant will conduct a special breakout session at the annual conference of the Association of South Dakota Museums. His presentation will reflect the conference's theme, "Engage the Past, Inspire the Future."
This speaking event is open to the public.

October Wolf Talk and Noon Forum Discussion: Travel That Changes You: Cambodia, Genocide, and the Power of Being There.
Dr. Steven Usitalo, joined by Dr. Erin Fouberg, will present an emotional account of their faculty-led study abroad journey to Cambodia, an experience that profoundly reshaped how students engage with history, memory, and ideally global citizenship. The group of NSU students, alumni, and Aberdeen community members, visited some of the most haunting sites of the Cambodian Genocide, including Phnom Penh’s infamous S-21 prison, where the Khmer Rouge systematically tortured and executed thousands. At one of Cambodia’s many Killing Fields — a place of unimaginable violence — Steven Usitalo delivered an on-site lecture, allowing students to confront history in the very place where it unfolded.
