We’ll walk through the Canva Pro tools that make creating clean, consistent graphics way easier—brand kits, templates, photo editing, exporting and sizing, apps, and quick tips to help your visuals look polished without overthinking it. Shootout at Pine Ridge - Jaeden Shaving
The Noon Forum for Wednesday, April 22, 2026 will be presented by Jaeden Shaving, NSU student working towards his Master of Science Education. His topic is "Shootout at Pine Ridge".
A look at the 1975 incident on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation that left two FBI agents dead and the legal battle Leonard Peltier has fought since his imprisonment in 1976 until President Biden commuted his life sentence in January 2025.
The Noon Forum is held in the NSU Beulah Williams Library Round Room from 12-1pm on Wednesdays and is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences.

Student Government Association Meeting
The NSU Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the governing body/voice of the pack, representing all Northern students. Functions of SGA include overseeing the creation and recognition of all organizations, delegating General Activity Fee fund allocation on campus every spring, representing NSU at South Dakota Student Federation meetings, and serving as the bridge between the student body and the South Dakota regental system. SGA meets weekly during the academic year and welcomes all students, Northern employees, and community members to attend. For more information, stop by their office in the Hub on the second level of Avera Student Center, or visit their social media.
Open Forum is at the beginning of every meeting. All Northern students are invited to bring their questions or concerns to SGA during Open Forum.
Meetings are open to the general public unless the SGA goes into a closed session. Business regarding students and student concerns occur during these meetings.

Speech & Debate Forum - Foote
The Noon Forum for Wednesday, April 29, 2026 will be presented by Dr. Gus Foote, assistant professor of communication studies and director of forensics. This forum is titled "Noon Performances by NSU Speech and Debate".
The NSU Speech and Debate Team will perform some of the material they took to the Pi Kappa Delta National tournament held in Springfield, MO last month.
