Sean Barnes is the Gallery Director of the Leonor R. Fuller Gallery in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts and adjunct art faculty on the campus of South Puget Sound Community College. Sean Barnes’ richly textured assemblage paintings and sculptures represent topographies of the human condition and the natural world conveying aspects of mixing ecologies. Barnes shares his art, studio practice, and moments of his life in rural Alaska.

Earth Day 2021 is taking place in the second year of the Covid-19 pandemic. On a planet of viruses, we have created niches and rely on converting the planet's primary productivity. The global scope of the pandemic is another reminder that we socially construct our boundaries between humans and the earth.
Come join our discussion with Parakh Hoon, our campus political science professor, to develop a shared understanding of the sustainability of earth as a planetary system, to consider debates over its ecological limits and technological prospects, and to envision alternative futures.

This Collaboration is an ongoing interdisciplinary project that was hatched between a painter and a writer who have a common interest in women's studies. This project is an exploration of the relationship between visual imagery and language; sometimes derogatory and sometimes exemplary; in particular words that describe women that have fell out of use or perhaps warrant a comeback. The culmination of this work will include the challenge from covering A-Z and short essays touching on the terms in context with modern events and issues facing women in the 21st Century.

To Withdraw from a Class – Complete a Registration Add/Drop Form and submit it either in-person at the One-Stop at the Olympia or the Lacey Campus during open hours.
