May NWS Alaska Climate Outlook Briefing
Join the UAF Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Preparedness for this month’s climate outlook briefing. Rick Thoman, ACCAP climate specialist, will review recent and current climate conditions across Alaska, highlight key forecasting tools, and wrap up with the Climate Prediction Center’s outlook for June and the remainder of the summer.

LARS Birthday Bash
Join us in celebrating our muskox and reindeer calves turning 1 and the arrival of a new wood bison herd. There won’t be new calves this year (LARS didn't breed last fall as part of our herd management plan), but we will still have our younger animals on display and we have some fun surprises planned for them. We’ll also have family-friendly activities, local organizations, food trucks, and a qiviut raffle. Free and open to all! Minors must be accompanied by an adult. A free shuttle will be offered from the Nenana lot on UAF campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
