After studying with Ilona Feher, he came to the United States to study with Efrem Zimbalist at the Curtis Institute of Music. He won the Merriweather Post Competition, was a finalist in Belgium’s Queen Elisabeth competition, and received second prize in the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Lamont Music Events Free admission to observe, No ticket required, Gramophone 2023 Young Artist of the Year Stella Chen garnered worldwide attention with her first-prize win at the 2019 Queen Elizabeth International Violin Competition, followed by the 2020 Avery Fisher Career Grant and 2020 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award. Since then, Stella has appeared across North America, Europe, and Asia in concerto, recital, and chamber music performances. Known for her ability to articulate how to use playing technique to result in the most musically expressive sound, Ellen brings out the best in her students. Over twenty of her students have completed the exam process to become Carillonneur members of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA), the highest professional certification offered by the GCNA. Oberon enlists his henchman Puck to find a magic plant and cast a spell on Tytania. Meanwhile, four Athenian lovers run away to the forest, and they are quickly entwined in Puck’s trickery.  Join Lamont Opera Theatre and Lamont Symphony Orchestra performers for magic, mischief, romance, and sheer enchantment in Benjamin Britten’s setting of Shakespeare’s classic comedy. Prior to coming to Colorado, he was carillonist at the University of Chicago for seven years, where he built a robust teaching studio. He has given masterclasses and workshops at Yale, Cornell, Wellesley, Indiana University, and the University of Michigan. He began his carillon studies at Yale University with Ellen Dickinson in 2007; graduated with greatest distinction from the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium in 2012; and studied further with Geert D’hollander at Bok Tower Gardens in 2015. An award-winning performer and composer, Brink has released two albums for carillon, composed twenty-seven original works for carillon, and published thirty-five arrangements for carillon. Carillon Recital Series: Geert D’hollander

Lamont Music Events Ritchie Center Lawn, 5:00pm, No matter the weather, Free admission, no ticket required, Geert D'hollander, born in 1965 in Sankt Niklaas, Belgium, studied piano, composition, choral conducting, harmony, and fugue at the Antwerp Conservatory and obtained his Masters there in 1987. He had already been awarded a carillon diploma with highest honours in 1982 from the Royal Carillon School Jef Denyn in Mechelen, where he has been teaching carillon and composition since 1983. He is the city carillonneur of Antwerp, Gent, Lier, and Sankt Niklaas and was carillonneur at the University of California at Berkeley from 1997 til 1999. D'hollander gives regular concerts in Europe, Canada, and the USA and has won prizes at many carillon and composition contests, among others at the Queen Fabiola carillon competition in Mechelen, Belgium in 1987 and at the Grand Prix Europeèn de Composition Chorale in Tours, France in 2003.
