AI and Machine Learning - Beyond the Basics

University Events Calendar "AI and Machine Learning - Beyond the Basics" is an intermediate workshop for students and researchers who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the theory and practice of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The workshop will focus on the concepts and underlying algorithms of AI and ML, typical applications such as computer vision and object classification, commonly used software packages, and the use of hardware accelerators. University Events Calendar Black Nerd Mafia is an organization focused on promoting and supporting independent artists and creatives. They aim to challenge stereotypes and provide a platform for diverse expressions within the artist community. One of their projects is “The Cool Table,” a collective of independent artists from Columbia that puts strong emphasis on curating talent based on the quality and authenticity of the art rather than popularity or follower counts. University Events Calendar As a member of the Vista Guild, the Koger Center for the Arts partnered with The Jasper Project to open a new rotating art space, titled The Nook, in celebration of Third Thursday Art Night. September 2026’s featured artist in The Nook is Patrick Parise. Artist Biography, Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1952, Patrick Parise has lived and worked in Columbia, SC for more than five decades. Influenced early by his mother, a painter and art historian, Parise studied painting at Bethany College and printmaking under Boyd Saunders at the University of South Carolina. He went on to establish his own etching studio and later expanded into painting, sculpture, mixed media, and custom design work.
