Planetarium Kids Program: The Moon

For our youngest guests, explore the Moon’s observable features, its apparent daily motion, and the pattern of change in its phases. In this program for younger space explorers, we'll explore the surface and changing appearance of the Moon in the sky. Our Planetarium Educator will lead lunar observers through an introduction to our most precious satellite! This program is recommended for kids aged 4-8.   Please arrive at least 5 minutes before show time, because late arrivals may not be seated for safety reasons in our darkened planetarium. Planetarium Kids Program - Magic Tree House: Space Mission

Join Jack and Annie on an adventure through space! Meet an astronomer and an astronaut, travel to a black hole, and much more. Travel with the brother-sister duo, Jack and Annie, in their Magic Tree House as they discover a note that asks them to answer a series of six questions about space. With the help of an astronomer, the internet, an astronaut, books and the writer of the mysterious note, Jack and Annie are taken on a wondrous journey of adventure and learning. This exciting voyage will carry visitors to the planets and far out into the Universe where Jack and Annie nearly get… Well, we don’t want to give it away. The adventure is just beginning!   Our solar system has hundreds of moons besides our own! Take a journey through our solar system and explore the remarkable diversity — and surprising characteristics — of moons. From volcanoes and geysers to ice-covered oceans and methane rain, these natural satellites have spectacular features, and many even exert a surprising influence on their planetary partners.
