EWU Clean Energy Project Drop-in Chats

EWU is currently in the design and development of multiple clean energy projects that will improve campus energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  During the month of May, the Office of Sustainability and Facilities & Planning will be hosting multiple open house events for the EWU community to come drop-in, meet the people and firms leading the work, and learn more about the coming sustainability-focused projects.  The open house chats will be held in the JFK Lobby, to the left of the main entrance.  Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. The open house chats include: May 1 - Solar Array Design and Eco-voltaics with Cascadia Renewables, EWU is currently in the design phase of a 1 MW solar array that will be integrated with campus research and plant restoration efforts. EWU Clean Energy Project Drop-in Chats

EWU is currently in the design and development of multiple clean energy projects that will improve campus energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  During the month of May, the Office of Sustainability and Facilities & Planning will be hosting multiple open house events for the EWU community to come drop-in, meet the people and firms leading the work, and learn more about the coming sustainability-focused projects.  The open house chats will be held in the JFK Lobby, to the left of the main entrance.  Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. Cheney in Knots: A Visit with Cartoonist Colleen Frakes

Join us for this afternoon presentation delivered by award-winning cartoonist Colleen Frakes. Refreshments will be served! Colleen Frakes grew up on a prison island (really!) then moved to the mainland to attend The Center for Cartoon Studies. She was awarded a 2007 Xeric Grant for her first graphic novel Tragic Relief and in 2009 won an Ignatz Award for her second book, Woman King. , Her semiautobiographical graphic novel Knots (Harper Alley) takes place in the town of Cheney, was awarded the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard. , Colleen has created comics for The Nib, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dark Horse, and many others. She currently lives in Seattle with her spouse, daughter and a cranky old cat. Hazed and Confused: A Candid Discussion on Workplace Hazing (Panel Discussion)

For this discussion we will discuss hazing in the workplace and what you can do to protect yourself. Nicole Decay is based out of Seattle and runs a organization called Humanalyst. It's a data analyst organization that works to gather data on workplace experiences. Travis Apgar is based out of Cleveland, Ohio and talks more traditionally about Hazing prevention on college campuses, especially within Greek organization and Athlete. Kim Kamel is a labor and employment attorney, based in Spokane. She provides day-to-day employment advice, drafts contracts, handbooks, responds to EEOC and HRC Charges and also litigates cases. Eastern Washington University Gallery of Art is pleased to present the exhibition Throughlines May 15 through June 6, 2025. Eastern Washington University’s annual BFA Senior Exhibition features the work of graduating seniors enrolled in EWU’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Program. Brief, confidential conversations with a CWS licensed counselor. Let’s Talk does not require students to fill out any paperwork. Let’s Talk is available to all currently enrolled students. It is not mental health treatment, but is a brief conversation to discuss a problem, receive support, explore possible solutions, and receive resources.
