EWU Student Tailgate vs. Cal Poly (Welcome Weekend)
It's Welcome Weekend at EWU! As the fall quarter begins, the incoming class of students will RUSH ROOS 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Join us and WEAR RED on Saturday, September 26th at Roos Field in Cheney as we host Cal Poly. The student tailgate spots can only be reserved by enrolled EWU students — and space is limited! With only 12 total spots available on a first-come, first-served basis, make sure to reserve yours now through EagleSync. Each tailgate space includes three (3) connected parking stalls. It is recommended to use a maximum of one vehicle, and the space can accommodate your tailgate activities and/or a 10 x 10 tent. ,
Show us your best tailgate game! Groups are encouraged to bring propane grills (no fire pits or open flames allowed), shade tents, chairs, and lawn games. Their Own Devices, A Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception
The Eastern Washington University Gallery of Art presents Their Own Devices, a solo exhibition of new work by artist Joe Hedges, on view October 1 through November 12, 2026. A public reception and artist talk will be held at noon on October 1st. The gallery will host multimedia installations and oil paintings Hedges calls Their Own Devices, made on CNC-routed wood panels, each one cut to house an inexpensive, obsolete consumer device sourced from thrift stores: alarm clocks, blood pressure monitors, stereos, tape recorders, a defibrillator. Figures drawn from real and imagined Renaissance and Baroque sources inhabit panels that are physically interrupted by this hardware, which protrudes from the surface and disrupts the picture plane in both two and three dimensions. The result is both painting and object — a body of work in which the oldest technology of representation is forced into contact with machines that have already outlived their usefulness.

It's Homecoming Weekend at EWU! Join us and WEAR RED on Saturday, October 10th at Roos Field in Cheney as we host Northern Colorado. The student tailgate spots can only be reserved by enrolled EWU students — and space is limited! With only 12 total spots available on a first-come, first-served basis, make sure to reserve yours now through EagleSync. Each tailgate space includes three (3) connected parking stalls. October 1, 2026 – November 12, 2026 Reception/Lecture: The opening reception of Joe Hedges: Their Own Devices as well as a lecture by the artist will be held on Thursday, October1st, Noon. Location: Eastern Washington University Gallery of Art is located in the Art Building situated in the center of the fine and performing arts complex on the EWU campus in Cheney, Washington. College of Health Science and Public Health senior students will be meeting as a large group as part of an Interprofessional Education Event. Students will be assigned tables to sit at that will include students from each discipline. After an introduction and ice breaker to have students get to know each other, the students will have a variety of other activities. One will be looking at various tasks and duties of healthcare professions and determining which professions do what. This will hopefully highlight the similarities between the professions and show that we can work together more than previously thought. It also may educate students on the various different disciplines. Finally, the students will be tasked with a case study to review and discuss.
