CYBR/CS Colloquium Series
CYBR/CS Colloquium Series: Willy Vasquez,
Modern video compression is a marvel of engineering, hiding deep complexity and security risks. In this talk, I'll provide insights into how video compression works by describing the H.264 codec. Then we'll explore this space from a security lens, showing where vulnerabilities may exist and how they could be exploited using tools like H26Forge. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024, where he researched the security of media parsing. Before that, he worked at BBN as a security researcher and received his bachelor's and master's from MIT. He…

This training will be two hours long: the first hour will be a demonstration taught by Morgan Wagner, Ty Baxter-Howard, and Anna Frost (so pre- and post-award elements), and the second hour will be you workshopping in the system to develop records and play around with the system to familiarize yourself.
