Third Annual Big Man on Campus: Once Upon A Crown
The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is proud to support the YWCA, an organization helping women and families affected by poverty, violence, and discrimination. To address domestic violence, which often lacks male involvement, we are hosting our second annual Big Man on Campus Male Pageant. This event encourages men to lead conversations and inspire change. Contestants will compete in a talent presentation, an outfit contest based on the event theme, a professional interview, and on-stage activities. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship.

Our Front Row Clinic & Setting Clinic will run concurrently, please only register for one. In our Front Row Skills Clinic, our goal is to teach attackers of all levels about different arm swings, ways to see the court, and how to swing with confidence. The Setting Clinic will run at the same time and will work with athletes to understand how to set different areas, tempos and get a lot of attention to this critical part of the game. We will be bringing the Setters and Hitters together at various times during the clinic to allow them to work on their skills. The goal of our popular three-day Overnight Elite Camp is to develop and train the technical and mental aspects of all positions. Mend-It Cafe
Spokane Zero Waste will be hosting a Mend-It Cafe at the Catalyst Building Room 172 on Saturday, July 19 from noon-3pm.
Mend-It Cafe exists to reduce textile waste and reestablish value and respect for the resources and labor that go into creating fabric and making clothing, bedding, drapery and other textiles. Mend-It also addresses the ever increasing amount of synthetics used in fast fashion. These are petroleum based materials that become microplastics in the air, water and soil.
The repair cafe model was created by Martine Postma, a former journalist who was looking for ways to reduce the amount of items heading to landfill and “striving for sustainability at the local level” The first repair cafe took place in 2009 in Amsterdam. Today there are over 2500 repair cafes world-wide addressing all manner of waste from small appliances to furniture and textiles. How it works:

Residential campers/teams will be provided with meals Thursday (dinner), Friday (breakfast, lunch, & dinner), Saturday (breakfast). Please bring your own linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels), as well as your own toiletries. We strongly recommend bringing a fan as the dorms are not air-conditioned.
