This exhibition features woven textile works by Chicago-based visual artist Meagan Smith and Seattle, WA-based visual artist Allyce Wood. An opening reception and lecture by Meagan and Allyce will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at Noon. Tidal Loop brings together the practices of Meagan Smith and Allyce Wood, two artists whose work explores rhythm, perception, and the fluid intelligence of craft. Through handwoven and digitally informed textiles, Smith translates sensory experience, movement, and vibration into shimmering fields of color and pattern that echo the unseen forces shaping our environment. Wood’s weavings draw on the feminist history of craft, using looping forms, watery imagery, and layered structures to reflect interconnection, inheritance, and collective knowledge.… Organization: FINE & PERFORMING ARTS.
