NORTHERN LIFE SELECTS TRUMBA TO DELIVER
COMMUNITY EVENT INFORMATION

Canadian Community Newspaper Integrates Trumba Connect
To Connect Citizens with Events

SEATTLE, WA, December 4, 2006 – Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative event marketing technology, today announced that Northern Life, a regional newspaper for the City of Greater Sudbury in northern Ontario, Canada, has selected its Trumba Connect advanced event publishing solution to deliver event information to its community. Northern Life has integrated Trumba Connect into its new, redesigned web site to make it easier for citizens to find event information that is relevant to them. Trumba Connect has also been integrated into Northern Life’s wowsudbury.com site, the online version of its Friday newspaper supplement.

Trumba Connect helps organizations increase event awareness and attendance and better connects them with their audiences through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive web calendar, email and reporting services. It is being deployed on Northern Life’s general community calendar as well the entertainment section of the site, which includes Music and Clubs and Theatre and Events information sections. Users can search for events by date, topic or location, and add events directly to their personal calendars. Northern Life also plans to integrate Trumba Connect into its sports events page later this year.

“Creating a more dynamic, interactive event calendar was a top priority for our web site redesign. Before integrating Trumba Connect, our events page consisted of a list of events with no structure making it hard for users to navigate and find the events of interest,” said Armand Dicaire, Internet Development Manager at Laurentian Media Group, publisher of Northern Life. “With Trumba Connect, our readers can now easily find event information, download it to their personal calendars and even set up email reminders. In addition to increasing site traffic, Trumba Connect has reduced the burden on our information technology department because editors can easily add events directly to the web site.”

Trumba Connect is deployed as software-as-a-service, allowing Northern Life to store and update calendar and event information in a secure, reliable, web-hosted environment. In addition, each calendar has been fully customized with Northern Life’s branding and when users click an event they are still connected to the Northern Life site.

“The publishing industry, and news outlets specifically, are recognizing the value that Trumba Connect can provide in connecting them with their customers online,” said Jeremy Jaech, CEO and president of Trumba. “People like using community calendars to stay connected and Northern Life is a good example of how organizations use Trumba Connect to put community events online in a way their customers want to find them.”
